BOWRAL STREET CHILDCARE

Our Community

Where your child is our number one priority.

We wholeheartedly encourage collaborating and working with the families of our children as this greatly contributes to our rich learning environment and lifestyle.

FAMILY INVOLVEMENT

Our children’s families are encouraged to contribute to our learning program regularly through our Educators’ Program and daily records, spontaneous experiences and guest visits, and by offering ideas and suggestions for activities. At Bowral Street Childcare we truly believe in having an Open Door Policy with all our parents and their families, to create a well-rounded and ongoing inclusion-based relationship.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

We really encourage our children to use the garden and we have been allocated several plots for our children to plant and learn all about gardening. We take a small group of children to the Community Garden on a weekly basis and we grow food in our allocated plots, then our children have been able to experience and sample the produce that they’ve grown. This provides our children with a hands-on learning experience and creates good habits for the future, educating them on where their food comes from as well as the responsibility of looking after the garden.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We always have your child/children’s best interests and wellbeing at the forefront of everything we do. With this in mind, our team consistently strives to deliver our mission of a thriving childcare centre with happy children, happy parents and happy staff in our inclusion-based lifestyle. We interact with staff and children in ways that are respectful, supportive, honest, encouraging, positive and fun so that Bowral Street Childcare is a place that everyone wants to come to and feels like a second family or home.

We interact with staff and children in ways that are respectful, supportive, honest, encouraging, positive and fun so that Bowral Street Childcare is a place that everyone wants to come to and feels like a second family or home. It is our mission to make sure that:

  • Our children feel important, well cared for and engaged. They enjoy their days in childcare, have fun with their friends and learn through play. Their experiences are developed from their individual interests and around the concepts ‘being, belonging and becoming’. Children are supported to develop a strong sense of identity, to connect to and contribute to their world, to develop a strong sense of well being, to be confident and involved learners and to be effective communicators.

  • Our children’s parents are confident that their child is being well looked after and enjoying their day at Bowral Street Childcare. They feel informed about their child/ren’s days and that they are a part of our community. Our communication is strong and we work as a team for the best interests of each child.

  • Our staff work as part of a strong and communicative team that effectively meets the needs of each individual child and the regulations set by the Government. All staff are passionate about the wellbeing and development of children and understand the importance of their role. We have a range of systems in place to help staff work together effectively and efficiently, and staff use their instincts and initiative constantly to ensure the smooth operation of the centre and the best experience possible for all.
